In the swirling vortex of football transfer rumours, one story has been making significant waves: the potential swap deal involving Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and Juventus’s Gleison Bremer. But, according to the esteemed Fabrizio Romano, these reports may not hold as much water as some believe.
“Fabrizio Romano has rubbished reports that Mason Greenwood could join Juventus this summer and says Man Utd’s interest in Gleison Bremer has no connection to the Englishman,” according to Football Transfers, which first highlighted these developments. Romano’s insights throw a damp towel on the fiery speculation linking the two players in a summer move.
Romano, in his detailed analysis on The United Stand, expressed doubt over Juventus’s interest in Greenwood. “I don’t think Juventus will go for Mason Greenwood,” Romano articulated, shedding light on the Italian club’s priorities. “From what I hear, they have different options in those positions. It is not a priority for them.”
He further clarified the absence of any contact between the parties involved: “At the moment I am not aware of any contact between Juventus and Greenwood.”
Manchester United’s interest in Juventus’s stalwart defender, Gleison Bremer, has been buzzing in the football world. However, Romano makes it clear: “Man Utd’s interest in Gleison Bremer is not linked to Greenwood.” This revelation redirects the narrative towards a more straightforward pursuit by the Red Devils, devoid of any complex swap deal mechanics.
Mason Greenwood’s career at Manchester United hangs in balance. Following a loan spell at Getafe, where Greenwood showcased his talent with eight goals and five assists in 28 appearances, his future remains uncertain. United announced post-investigation into criminal charges—now dropped—that Greenwood would continue his career elsewhere, a statement echoed by new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, indicating a decision on Greenwood’s return is pending.
