The search for a new wide player continues for Chelsea as they look to provide cover for the injured Ben Chilwell for the rest of the season.

With Reece James out injured as well currently there is certainly a need to bring in a new wide player or two this window.

The club have looked at recalling Emerson Palmieri but that doesn’t look like it will come off with Lyon digging their heels in having that buy option in the summer.

Other names have been mentioned as well and Thomas Tuchel has said he might even take a look at Kenedy, who has been recalled from his loan at Flamengo.

But another name has also been considered, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano. He says Chelsea looked at Ajax left back Nicolas Tagliafico in December, but they have not held any fresh talks in January.

The experienced international IS available though..
