Long-term Liverpool target Federico Chiesa looks increasingly likely to leave Juventus this summer and could be available for as little as £17m.

Links between Liverpool and Chiesa date back years but more recent reports suggest that the Reds are still big admirers of the 51-cap Italy international.

Chiesa didn't enjoy the best season of his career with Juventus in 2023/24 and struggled to make a significant impact as Italy were knocked out of Euro 2024 by Switzerland in the last 16.

However, the 26-year-old did still manage ten goals and three assists in 37 appearances from the left flank.

While spending big on the relatively injury-prone attacker wouldn't be wise, his new price tag may entice the Reds.

FEDERICO CHIESA FREE TO LEAVE JUVENTUS

The latest update on Chiesa has been revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Euro 2020 winner will be departing Turin this summer.

It was expected that Chiesa would leave if Max Allegri wasn't removed as manager, but it appears he is headed for the exit door despite Juventus' decision to hire Thiago Motta as their new coach.

Writing in his Daily Briefing, journalist Romano stated: "The decision of Juventus has been made in the case of Federico Chiesa. The player will leave the club this summer, this is the plan.

"The new manager, Thiago Motta, wants to go in a different direction. Juventus are not counting on him, so Chiesa is expected to be sold by Juventus this summer for something around €20m (£17m)/€25m (£21m). It’s that cheap because the player is out of contract in summer 2025.

"Federico Chiesa is a big opportunity on the market, and he will probably have several options to choose from."

However, a move may hinge on Luis Diaz's Anfield future, with the Colombian strongly linked with a Merseyside exit. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are his most credible suitors, with the Reds willing to accept offers in the region of £50m.
