Today’s edition of Corriere della Sera suggests Roma had been in advanced talks with Cesc Fabregas.
The Spanish technician had been one of Roma’s top candidates to succeed Claudio Ranieri at the end of the season.
Having impressed in his first Serie A campaign as Como’s head coach, Fabregas was reportedly involved in negotiations with the Giallorossi.
However, when everything seemed done between the two sides, Como’s ownership (the Indonesian brothers Robert and Michael Hartono) sent Fabregas an improved contractual offer and guarantees with regards to the next transfer window.
In the end, despite Roma and Bayer Leverkusen’s interest, Fabregas decided to stay at Como.
