Brentford have officially announced the signing of attacking midfielder Fábio Carvalho for a reported fee £27.5m.
The 21-year-old makes the permanent switch from Liverpool having reportedly been deemed unfit for Arne Slot’s plans despite pre-season goals against Arsenal and Manchester City.
Thomas Frank subsequently jumped at the chance to lock down his talents with Carvalho signing a deal until 2029.
Despite his young age, the Portugal youth international has plenty of experience and will look to earn regular minutes with Brentford.
Carvalho spent the 2023-24 season on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, and previously played for Fulham before his switch to Liverpool.
During his time in the Championship, he registered 19 goals and 10 assists in 56 appearances. Meanwhile, in the Premier League, he has three goals from 17 and also made seven Champions League appearances.
