FA Cup third round weekend is one of the marquee events of the English football calendar.

Ronnie Radford, Wrexham’s win over Arsenal, Leeds doing a number on Manchester United.

These are results that have lived on in the imaginations of football fans everywhere.

Let’s have a look and see if there was anything equally iconic this time around, shall we?

The Zero to Hero Award

Sunday evening was a busy one for Brighton’s Adam Webster.

The 26-year-old defender was on his knees at the end of the game as his stoppage time own goal saw the Seagulls clash with Newport go into extra time.

However as the game went into penalties it was, you guessed, Webster who stepped up to take the winning spot kick.

The occasion was made slightly less magical by the fact that no fans were allowed into the stadium, but as one supporter proved, that didn’t really matter at Rossett Park.

Marine were unable to swap shirts with their Tottenham counterparts after the game because of COVID restrictions, but thankfully Tottenham were able to pay respects to the Mariners in their own way.

The Scripted Reality Award

He may be best known from The Only Way is Essex, but Mark Wright is now a pro at Crawley and came on to make his debut against Leeds on Sunday.

It may have only been a brief appearance but he’ll always be able to say he was an FA Cup winner.

The X Factor Award

The sixth tier side beat Derby on Saturday to produce the first real shock of the weekend.

What surprised us most though, was this astonishing Adele rendition in the changing rooms at full-time.

The Second Upset Award

Chorley’s win over Derby wasn’t the only upset of Saturday’s third round.

Blackpool hosted Big Sam’s West Brom at Bloomfield Road and after the game was 2-2 in normal time, the League One side beat their top flight rivals on penalties.

That’s now four defeats for Allardyce since he joined the Baggies last month.

Saturday was a brilliant evening for Scott McTominay.

The Blades beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 at the Memorial Ground with Oliver Burke finally get his first goal for the club.

You know you’ve officially made it as a footballer when fans on Twitter no longer need to type out your full name.
