Igor Tudor has confirmed that he will leave Olympique de Marseille at the end of the season. Les Phocéens are therefore in the market for a new manager and have two targets in mind: Ange Postecoglou and Marcelino.

Tudor lasted less than a year as Marseille manager, leaving halfway through a two-year deal, and citing “private and professional reasons” as the motivation for his early departure. Given that Marseille have an early start to next season, as they must negotiate the Champions League play-offs if they are to make the group stages of the competition, Les Phocéens will be keen on sorting out the managerial situation sooner rather than later.

Get French Football News understands that Marseille are heavily leaning on the CAA Sports agency to find their next manager. The club’s President, Pablo Longoria, is represented by CAA’s Frank Trimboli, as is Postecoglou. The Australian manager, who joined Celtic back in the summer of 2021, is being heavily linked with a departure, and the Trimboli connection could be pivotal in bringing Postecoglou to the Vélodrome. Marcelino, whose last job was as manager of Athletic Bilbao is also in contention for the role.

Get French Football News can also confirm Sports Zone’s report that Lille OSC’s Paulo Fonseca is also in contention for the managerial hot-seat at the Vélodrome.
