Teddy Sharman-Lowe is a wanted man thanks to his performances in League Two this season
Bolton Wanderers are eyeing up a loan move for young Chelsea goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe this summer, sources have exclusively told Football League World.
The Trotters confirmed this past week that a number of first-team players were to depart at the end of June when their contracts expire, including long-serving Gethin Jones and Ricardo Santos.
That list also included goalkeeper Nathan Baxter, whose two-year stay came to an end, with Steven Schumacher looking for fresh goalkeeper competition for Luke Southwood at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
FLW has been told that Bolton are now eyeing up taking Sharman-Lowe on loan for the 2025-26 season, and it's all thanks to his impressive showings for Doncaster Rovers in League Two.
Prior to last summer's temporary switch to the Keepmoat Stadium, Sharman-Lowe had only played 27 senior games of football, with the majority of those coming for Havant & Waterlooville of the National League South in the 2022-23 season.
Nevertheless, Doncaster took a chance on Sharman-Lowe, and the 22-year-old ended up playing all 46 matches for Grant McCann's side as they won the League Two title.
Keeping 13 clean sheets in the process, Sharman-Lowe only conceded 50 goals in the fourth tier of English football, and was part of a side that were unbeaten in their last 11 league matches to secure a spot in League One for next season.
His form has impressed Bolton and Steven Schumacher, who now look set to launch a loan bid for the England under-21 international, having been capped by Lee Carsley for the very first time back in March against Portugal in a 4-2 victory.
It's not just Bolton who are keen on Sharman-Lowe though, as Doncaster want to re-unite with the young stopper too, our sources told FLW.
Doncaster manager Grant McCann was seemingly very impressed with what Sharman-Lowe had to offer throughout the season just gone, and is eyeing up a repeat loan deal, and he could be in the driving seat given the experience the Chelsea man had.
More clubs may come in for Sharman-Lowe in the coming weeks as Chelsea decide what to do next in regards to the 22-year-old, but Bolton are certainly looking to pip one of next season's divisional rivals in the form of Donny to his services.
