German football reporter, and a key insider that seems across the Florian Neuhaus situation, Florian Plettenberg, has offered a genuinely exciting update on the Reds’ chase for the midfielder, suggesting that an offer is on the way for the player.

Liverpool have been linked heavily with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach player and in recent days we’ve seen the speculation increase further.

Indeed, that has coincided with the exit of Gini Wijnaldum to PSG and it looks as though the German international is the man the Reds are prioritising most of all as the player they want to succeed the Dutchman in the middle of the park.

As per Plettenberg, an offer is expected for Neuhaus and it remains to be seen if it is something that sets the wheels in motion for a deal:

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

It’s an exciting update indeed.

Neuhaus very much seems the most likely midfielder to arrive at the club as things stand.

Whilst the likes of Youri Tielemans, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Yves Bissouma have all been linked with a move to the Reds this summer, it’s quite clear that Neuhaus looks to be the one Liverpool are potentially looking to sign in this window.

We’ll have to wait and see if an offer does indeed get launched but, clearly, there is real interest from the Reds.
