Swedish striker Oscar Uddenäs has left Excelsior for a return to his homeland with Östers IF. The 22-year-old attacker played in his home country last season, on loan from the Rotterdam club at AIK Fotboll, but hardly found game time.

Uddenäs transferred to Kralingen in the summer of 2023 from BK Häcken, and played 28 games for Excelsior, in which he scored three times.

With this move, Uddenäs swaps one newly-promoted team for another, as Östers IF finished second out of 16 teams in 2024’s Superettan (second tier). The statement on the club’s website read:

“Excelsior Rotterdam thanks Oscar for his efforts and wishes him every success in the rest of his career at Östers IF.”
