If there was one dark spot on Inter’s Serie A win over Bologna this evening, it concerned a couple of injuries to Nerazzurri players.

Among these was a problem for striker Arnautovic.

The veteran Austrian international came on as a substitute. He was playing against his former side Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Serie A for the first time since joining Inter from the Rossoblu last summer.

It was not the happiest of returns for the 34-year-old, however.

Arnautovic did help Inter to see out the victory.

However, there was an injury very late on in the match for the former West Ham United and Stoke City striker.

Marko Arnautovic Suffers Thigh Strain During Inter Serie A Win Vs Bologna

Arnautovic went down holding his left thigh during the last couple of minutes of stoppage time.

At first it was not clear what the problem was for the Austrian.

The Bologna players felt that it was an attempt to run down the clock, and tried to play on.

However, it quickly became clear that Arnautovic had actually picked up an injury.

The 34-year-old needed to come off, as he was in visible discomfort.

And the initial assessments by the Inter medical staff indicate that Arnautovic had picked up a strain to the thigh flexor muscles in his right leg.

Now it will remain to be seen whether the injury will sideline Arnautovic for any significant amount of time.

Inter are back in action in just a few days. They travel to Spain to take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, FCIN confirm that the reason that Brazilian wingback Carlos Augusto came off at halftime was some discomfort in his right thigh.
