Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp thinks Man Utd target Harry Kane will reject a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this summer.

Kane is under contract until 2024 and it remains to be seen whether he will remain at Tottenham beyond the end of this summer’s transfer window.

The Englishman enjoyed a superb season for Spurs in 2022/23 as he scored 30 Premier League goals for the North London outfit.

Man Utd and Bayern Munich are being heavily linked with Kane in recent weeks as they are both in the market for a marquee striker signing.

With Spurs chief Daniel Levy not keen to do business with Man Utd, Erik ten Hag’s side are considering other targets as they are unwilling to become embroiled in a saga with their Premier League rivals.

With United looking at Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani, Bayern Munich have stepped up their interest in Kane.

This week, they have submitted their first official bid for Kane, who has already apparently already ‘agreed a deal in principle’ with the Bundesliga giants.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed on Wednesday afternoon that Bayern’s second offer for Kane will be worth “£80m all in”.

“Understand that Bayern are to test Daniel Levy’s resolve with an improved offer of around £80m all in for Harry Kane,” Jacobs said.

“#MUFC explored Kane and had low optimism a deal was possible. It remains to be seen whether Levy will sell (and at below £100m) to a non-Premier League club. Bayern want Kane to help them ‘force’ the move.”

But if Redknapp is to be believed, Kane is “certain to stay at Tottenham” as he is currently “building a new house”.

“[Harry Kane] is certain to stay at Tottenham. I think he is building a new house,” Redknapp told BBC Radio Wales.

“Family would be the all-important thing for him, so there’s no chance he’s going to Bayern Munich. He’ll be staying at Tottenham.

“He’s not going to want to go to Germany – he’s not taking his family over there, not a chance. So if he stays here, unless you go to Manchester City, you’re not guaranteed to win anything.

“You could go to Manchester United and not win anything. You can go to Chelsea or anywhere else you want to go. At the moment, City are winning everything. They’re on a different level – but City don’t need him. They’ve got Erling Haaland up front and there’s not a spot for Kane any more.

“There’s not a move for him really so I think he’ll stay at Tottenham, I really do. I’m very confident about that.”
