Former Palermo and Crotone midfielder Jeda feels that Inter Milan are favourites for the Serie A title, with Juventus and AC Milan not far behind.

The Brazilian spoke to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews.

Barring any surprise runs to the top of the table from teams currently outside the Serie A top four, there seems to be a fairly clear dynamic in the race for the Scudetto.

Inter currently sit top of the league table.

The Nerazzurri have dropped just five points all season.

But hot on Inter’s heels are Juventus.

The Bianconeri have put last season’s difficult season behind them to go on a strong run in the league over the first few months of the campaign.

Juventus are just two points behind Inter. They have dropped seven points in total so far.

Then, the likes of AC Milan and Napoli are a little ways back.

The Rossoneri are four points behind Juventus, and six behind Inter.

After a strong start to the season which saw them head into the most recent international break at the top of the table, Milan’s form has come to something of a halt.

And last season’s champions Napoli did not have the most impressive starts to the campaign.

However, the Partneopei look to have recovered somewhat. They are slowly but surely gaining ground at the top end of the table with more and more consistent form.

Jeda: Inter Favourites For Serie A Title, Juventus & AC Milan Just Behind

“To begin with, I don’t think that being out of Europe represents an advantage,” former midfielder Jeda said.

“Taking to the pitch in the Champions League galvanizes you and gives you confidence,” he continued.

“At least if you have a properly-equipped team.”

“Furthermore, the absence of midweek matches also adds a sense of pressure to the league.”

The former midfielder argued that “I believe Juve and Milan above all have what it takes to put pressure on Inter.”

Of the Nerazzurri he said that “Considering the quality of their football and the depth of their squad, they’re the real favourites.”
