Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has revealed one thing Jadon Sancho is doing at Chelsea which he wasn’t at United.

Sancho was a deadline day signing in the summer and he joined the Blues on an initial loan deal, which will become permanent next summer for in the region of £25m as long as Chelsea don’t finish in the bottom six.

The winger was one of three high profile attacking signings alongside Pedro Neto and Joao Felix as Chelsea bolstered their attacking options.

Sancho prepared to work hard at Chelsea

Sancho endured a difficult time at Old Trafford and had a very public falling out with Erik ten Hag which resulted in him spending the second half of last season back on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The move to Chelsea has offered Sancho a chance to get his career back on track and he’s grasped it with both hands so far.

He put in a man of the match debut against Bournemouth as he came on as a half time substitute and set up Christopher Nkunku’s late winner.

Further assists followed against West Ham and Brighton, but after starting in October’s defeat against Liverpool, a game he was taken off in at half time he didn’t feature again for a month.

He returned to the starting line-up agaisnt Heidenheim and provided two assists, whilst he put in arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt against Tottenham, and Maresca was impressed by his work rate.

Sancho had a reputation of being lazy at United and former United defender Silvestre believes the 24-year-old is prepared to work hard at Chelsea.

“Sancho is willing to work hard at Chelsea which wasn’t what he was prepared to do at United, he will be a bargain for them if they sign him on a permanent deal for around £25million,” he told Boyle Sports as cited on X.com.
