Legendary former striker Hernan Crespo feels that Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram are the best strike partnership in Serie A.
Crespo spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews.
Former Argentine international Crespo certainly knows a thing or two about being a top striker in Serie A.
Crespo spent many years lighting up the Italian top flight with his goals.
The Argentine played for the likes of Parma, Lazio, Inter, and AC Milan in Serie A. He also scored prolifically for Chelsea in the Premier League.
But now there is a new generation of strikers in the Italian top flight.
And for his part, Crespo believes that it is Inter who have the best strike partnership in the league.
Two of Crespo’s former teams face off tomorrow, in the form of Lazio and Inter.
The Argentine predicted that “It will certainly be a very interesting match.”
“Lazio are in a magical moment of form right now,” he said. “They play very well, even if Baroni’s team doesn’t have any truly world-class players.”
“I really like the way that they move and attack,” Crespo said.
“The way that the team plays as a whole in possession is like a chorus.”
“You can see that they have courage,” Crespo said of Lazio. “And that they’re never satisfied.”
Meanwhile, Crespo argued that “Inter are solid, very solid.”
“They have an experienced defense that’s very hard to get past. Their midfield is complete.”
“And in attack, in my opinion, the partnership of Lautaro and Thuram is the best in Serie A,” Crespo said.
“It will be an open match at the Olimpico,” Crespo anticipated of tomorrow’s match. “Inter are probably favourites.”
