Inter Milan wingback Juan Cuadrado will not be fit in time for Wednesday’s Champions League group stage clash away to Red Bull Salzburg.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that Cuadrado continues to work on his personal recovery program in training.

For much of the current season, Cuadrado has been dealing with injury problems.

The 35-year-old former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina veteran joined Inter on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

And over the first three matches, Cuadrado played.

The 35-year-old has yet to make a start for Inter. However, he came off the bench against all of Monza, Cagliari, and Fiorentina in each of Inter’s first three matches.

Cuadrado even bagged his first Inter assist. The Colombian set up Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez with a cross.

However, since then there have been some muscle injury problems.

Cuadrado picked up an issue with tendinitis whilst playing with the Colombian national team during the September international break.

And since then, the tendon problems have been consistent for the Inter wingback.

It has not been entirely clear when Cuadrado will be able to make a return to full training, and to the pitch.

The 35-year-old did play for thirty minutes against Bologna in a Serie A match before the October break.

However, Cuadrado’s issues have not exactly been clear-cut.

There have been issues with not wanting to rush the veteran former Bianconeri man back to the pitch when he is not at 100%. Particularly not if this would mean a risk of reinjury.

Therefore, Cuadrado has not been in any matchday squads since the return from the October break.

He was not a part of the squad for Saturday’s win over Atalanta in Serie A.

And the Colombian has not yet made a return to full training.

There have been some suggestions that Cuadrado could be back for this week’s Champions League group stage clash away to Red Bull Salzburg.

But that will not be the case. The Colombian is still not ready to return to full training, and will not be called up for Wednesday.
