Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer will reportedly recover in time to take part in the Serie A clash against Sassuolo.

As we reported yesterday, the 35-year-old had to skip yesterday’s training session at Appiano Gentile due to a fever.

But according to Sport Mediaset via FcInterNews, Sommer is feeling better and is ready to start between the sticks on Saturday night.

Even with the Scudetto title in the bag, Simone Inzaghi is still looking to rely on the services of the former Bayern Munich custodian.

On the other hand, some of the club’s key players could start on the bench at the Mapei Stadium.

At the back, Yann Bisseck could step up to replace Benjamin Pavard. The German would thus join Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni in the three-man backline.

Carlos Augusto will likely fill in for Federico Dimarco on the left flank, with the latter returning from a calf strain. Nevertheless, Tajon Buchanan is also pushing for his maiden start since joining the club.

If the Canadian were to get the nod on the wing, Augusto could replace Bastoni at the back.

Moreover, Denzel Dumfries will return from his one-match ban, and will likely start on the right lane.

In the middle of the park, the source expects Davide Frattesi to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Nicolo Barella should maintain his starting berth, while Hakan Calhanoglu will share playing time with Kristjan Asllani.

Finally, Inzaghi will likely give club captain Lautaro Martinez the chance to end his goal drought which dates back to February. On the contrary, Marcus Thuram could be rested.

The source considers Alexis Sanchez the favorite to earn a starting spot alongside the Argentine, at the expense of Marko Arnautovic.
