Legendary former Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano feels the Nerazzurri’s “second string would win Serie A.”

Speaking on Twitch, via FCInterNews, Cassano also argued that midfielder Davide Frattesi should have joined Roma this summer.

Inter undoubtedly go into this season as favourites for the Serie A title.

Even an early stumble in the form of a draw away to Genoa does not change that.

Juventus, AC Milan, and Napoli are among the Nerazzurri’s rivals to have made big reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri have gotten a perfect start to the season unlike Inter. And Milan and Napoli are still not that far behind in points if they can find their form and consistency.

But Inter have largely kept together the team that won the Serie A title last season, and did so in dominant fashion.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have only improved the squad depth. The arrivals of Josep Martinez and Mehdi Taremi has ensured that.

Cassano: “Inter Second String Would Win Serie A, Frattesi Should Go To Roma”

Cassano said of Inter’s win over Lecce this weekend that “I got the impression Inter decided on the pace of that match.”

“It was an August match,” he noted.

“Inter have two teams, basically. If they play the second string, they can still win the Scudetto.”

Cassano argued that “Inter are way, way stronger than the other teams.”

“They haven’t made any big changes and have added starting-quality players in Zielinski and Taremi,” the former Italian international striker noted.

Meanwhile, Cassano gave his thoughts on Frattesi and Inter’s midfielder.

“How many goals did Barella score last season”? he posed. “One.”

“Frattesi scored seven, and he played three times as well,” Cassano argued.

“The question is, why does Frattesi not get the chance to play?”

“Frattesi should have played three times as many matches as a starter as he did,” Cassano continued.

“My advice to Frattesi, would be that if he has the chance to go to a team like Roma, he should.”
