Ex Inter Milan Goalkeeper Makes Honest Admission: “Dreamed Of Different Epilogue” | OneFootball

Andrei Radu left Inter Milan to join Serie A minnows Venezia on a short-term contract toward the end of the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper bid farewell to the San Siro via FCInter1908, admitting he had hoped for a ‘different epilogue.’

Inter signed Andrei Radu as a young talent in 2012 but refused to give him a real chance to prove himself in the senior squad.

Despite selling him to Genoa in 2018, the Nerazzurri immediately bought him back for a reported fee of €12 million.

However, things had never clicked between the reigning Scudetto holders and the Romanian shot-stopper.

Indeed, he spent the last few years wandering from one loan spell to another, most recently joining Bournemouth in 2023/24.

After realizing his Inter prospects were dead in the water, Radu decided to end his agony this winter.

He penned a six-month contract at Venezia to replace the injured Filip Stankovic.

“The road has been long,” Radu started. “I arrived in 2012 with a big dream.

“We won almost everything in the youth sector, and at 18, the doors of the first team opened for me!

“I always wished for a different ending, but in life, things don’t always go as we dream.

“Twelve years of emotions, both positive and negative, during which I had the honor of sharing the locker room with exceptional teammates- champions on the field and great men off it.

“Above all, thank you for never making me feel alone during the darkest moments.

“There is one memory that, unfortunately, has haunted me a lot, and believe me, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else in this role!

“It may sound like a cliché, but it’s true that the toughest moments are the ones that make you stronger.

“After a lot of deserved criticism and an understandable and necessary silence, I will now try to prove my true worth elsewhere.

“I am determined and motivated to continue my journey and start a new chapter in my life.

“I want to wish my teammates, the club, and all Nerazzurri fans the best of luck and success.
