Former Inter and current Monza defender Andrea Ranocchia is happy with the send-off that he was given by the Curva Nord when he left the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, the 34-year-old gave his thoughts on his departure from Inter after twelve years at the club, and on his new adventure with newly-promoted Monza.

Ranocchia left Inter this summer at the end of his contract to join Monza, to whose squad he will add plenty of top-flight experience.

The 34-year-old had won the Scudetto for the first time in his penultimate season in an Inter shirt, and then the Coppa Italia for the second in one of his last matches with the club.

Ranocchia was with Inter through many ups and downs, however, over his more than a decade at the club, and the Curva Nord gave him a special farewell at the end of the season in recognition of his long history with the team.

“It was an exhilarating moment that felt like the pay-off for the many years I spent at Inter,” he said of the farewell, “it’s a great memory and I’ll never forget it.”

“I would make every choice the same way that I did, because it’s made me the player and the man that I am now,” the 34-year-old continued. “I’m satisfied with my career and I can still achieve more and build more positive memories.”
