Andre Onana has picked up a hamstring injury in training and won’t be featuring in Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States.

The setback is expected to keep the goalkeeper out for around six to eight weeks, meaning his involvement in United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal on 17 August is now uncertain.

Despite the injury, Onana will still join the squad for their US tour as he continues his rehab, but he won’t be taking part in any of the upcoming Premier League Summer Series fixtures.

With Onana sidelined, Ruben Amorim is expected to turn to Altay Bayindir between the sticks for games against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton. Third-choice keeper Tom Heaton, who recently signed a one-year extension, will also be in the mix as back-up.
