Ex Chelsea & Juventus Coach: “Inter Milan A Step Ahead Of The Rest But They Need Rejuvenation” | OneFootball

Italian football coach Maurizio Sarri believes Inter Milan have the upper hand over the rest of the field in Serie A, but believes they must inject young blood into the squad.

The 65-year-old was in charge of Napoli, Juventus and Chelsea in the past. In March, he resigned from his post at Lazio for personal reasons.

The chain-smoking tactician praised the Nerazzurri for their glorious campaign that saw them win the Serie A title by a landslide.

Sarri feels Inter are the strongest team on Italian soil at the moment, but they must rejuvenate their squad.

“I think they had a great season,” noted the Italian manager in his interview with Sportitalia via FcInterNews.

“Last year, they reached the Champions League final. So they are doing very well.

“They have a strong team. It needs to be rejuvenated a bit, but it seems to me that they are already making moves.”

Inter have already aquired the services of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski on free transfers for next season.

Sarri acknowledged Inzaghi’s midfield as one of the best on the continent.

“Inter have one of the strongest midfields in Europe. I don’t know if the team will remain the same. If so, they will start one step ahead of the others.”

The experienced manager also discussed the club’s recent ownership change. Oaktree have taken over from Suning who failed to repay their debt by Monday’s deadline.

“I prefer to join clubs where the owner has a face, otherwise you find yourself in situations of this type, with investment funds, which have a single purpose: to resell the club to make money.

“The Inter situation seems a bit particular to me, but this is becoming increasingly common in football.”
