Ex-Arsenal star Wilshere came close to Hertha Berlin move

Hertha Berlin went well down the road to signing Jack Wilshere, it has been revealed.

A free agent in 2018, Wilshere held talks with Hertha about a move to the Bundesliga.

Negotiations ran so well, reports BILD, that Wilshere visited the Olympiastadion for talks with Hertha and a tour of the stadium and training facilites.

However, in the end an agreement couldn't be found and Wilshere ended up signing for West Ham.

The former England midfielder is back with Arsenal in a training capacity, though there has been talk of manager Mikel Arteta handing him a contract given the positive impression made.
