Bayern's squad planning for next season continues: Munich's promising 19-year-old midfielder Maurice Krattenmacher is poised to join Hertha BSC Berlin on a season-long loan, Sky Germany reports.
The transfer, which marks a strategic move in Bayern's player development plan, offers Krattenmacher a prime chance to gain consisten Bundesliga 2 exposure for a big club with high hopes of returning to the Bundesliga.
After being recalled early from his season-long loan at SSV Ulm, where he impressed across 33 matches with 3 goals and 8 assists, Krattenmacher traveled with Bayern to the Club World Cup in the USA. However, he is yet to make an appearance in the tournament and departed the squad mid-week to finalize discussions with Hertha in Berlin.
Bayern and Hertha have, as Sky and BILD are reporting, reached an agreement for the 2025/26 season, allowing Krattenmacher to continue his development in the German capital. The move aligns with Bayern's approach of careful nurturing through loan spells, as sporting director Christoph Freund emphasized earlier this summer.
Hertha, rebuilding in the 2. Bundesliga after relegation in 2023/24 and not being close to returning to the Bundesliga in 2024/25, could benefit from Krattenmacher's dynamism in the attacking midfield - especially after losing star player Ibrahim Maza to Leverkusen earlier this summer.
Bayern will, as they have already done with Paul Wanner, continue to monitor Krattenmacher's development and reassess his situation and future next summer - be it another loan at a higher level or integration into their first-team squad.
