Pep Guardiola made history on Sunday as he guided Manchester City to a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title.

The Cityzens beat West Ham 3-1 on the final day to seal title number 10 and while it was by no means easy, with Arsenal taking them all the way to match 38 and Liverpool only falling away late in the campaign, it’s testament to just how dominant this team has become under Guardiola’s guidance.

But who have been the standout performers and difference-makers in this incredible Man City team? Here are their full player ratings for the 2023/24 Premier League season.

Ederson – 6/10 – Injuries have disrupted Ederson’s season, while he continues to attract critics of his shot-stopping ability. However, he’s still among the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and an elite force with the ball at his feet.

Stefan Ortega – 7/10 – Couldn’t have been asked to do much more as a back-up goalkeeper, performing excellently in cup competitions and when called upon in the Premier League. His save to deny Son Heung-min in the penultimate game of the season against Tottenham will be looked back on as title-defining.

Kyle Walker – 7.5/10 – Still hasn’t lost a single yard of that incredible pace despite rapidly approaching his 34th birthday. In fact, he seems to be adding more facets to his game with every month that goes by and offers invaluable leadership to Guardiola’s side.

Rico Lewis – 5.5/10 – Lewis will be seeing this as a bit of a step back from his breakthrough 2022/23 campaign with just eight Premier League starts this time around. Still, he did manage a couple of goals and at just 19 years old, time is well on Lewis’ side. He’ll be looking for far more action next season.

Josko Gvardiol – 8/10 – Man City paid almost £80m for Gvardiol and during the early part of the campaign, he looked weighed down by that price tag. However, as the season has gone on, the Croatian has become more and more valuable and over the final few weeks, has proven himself an incredible attacking force from left-back. If this is the standard for Gvardiol now, then City will have the best left-back in the Premier League for years to come.

Nathan Ake – 6.5/10 – The Dutchman had to shift between centre-back and left-back across various points of the season but always did a solid job wherever called upon. He’ll probably be a little disappointed not to have started more than 24 times, but Ake continues to be a very valuable member of Guardiola’s squad.

Manuel Akanji – 7/10 – In the era of monstrous Man City spending, acquiring Akanji for £15m feels like an absolute steal. The Switzerland international has never lacked quality with the ball at his feet but during his Bundesliga days, he was often criticised for his defensive ability. Akanji has looked far more at home in a Man City shirt on both sides of the ball, helped of course by their dominance of pretty much every game they play in.

John Stones – 6.5/10 – By the end of last season, John Stones had built a very strong case as being the best centre-back on the planet. This season has seen the injuries rear their ugly heads once again, restricting the England international to just 12 Premier League starts. Stones continues to exude class whenever he plays but will be frustrated by this backwards step.

Ruben Dias – 6.5/10 – Despite being the mainstay in the City backline once again, Ruben Dias has actually turned in a number of unconvincing performances this season. He hasn’t been disastrously bad, but Dias hasn’t quite been as assured in possession or well-positioned defensively as usual. An ‘average’ season by his own standards.

Rodri – 9.5/10 – Rodri is quite simply the beating heart of this Manchester City team. Whether it’s building possession, calming things down or putting out defensive fires, the Spaniard can do it all. City’s dominance of the past few years simply isn’t possible without Rodri, who is surely set for some big personal accolades in the coming weeks and months. Fully deserved his goal on the final day as City sealed the title.

Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10 – Kovacic hasn’t always been the preferred choice in midfield for Guardiola with almost half of his 29 appearances coming from the bench. However, he’s provided stability, quality and physicality whenever called upon. Has comfortably been worth the £25m Man City paid for him.

Kevin De Bruyne – 8/10 – Missing over 140 days through injury should be enough to derail anybody’s season, but Kevin De Bruyne isn’t just ‘anybody’. He’s Kevin De Bruyne. Instead, the Belgian returned to action and ended the Premier League season with 10 assists in just 18 appearances, leaving him third only to Ollie Watkins (13) and Cole Palmer (11) in the English top flight, while’s only Mohamed Salah (23) has created more big chances (21). Again, he’s only played 18 times. There’s arguably no other player on the planet who could post such numbers and without his return, City may well have been unable to topple the challenges of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Matheus Nunes – 4.5/10 – £53m is a phenomenal amount of money to spend on a player who has started just seven Premier League games all season and has looked little more than average when he has been on the pitch.

Phil Foden – 9.5/10 – Foden is fully deserving of the praise that is raining down on him presently, with his title-clinching brace on the final day taking him to 19 goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances. Foden has made the difference for his boyhood club this season and now, everyone will just be hoping he can take that form into the European Championships with England this summer.

Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10 – Silva has set such a standard that he’s barely been talked about despite having yet another excellent season. He just keeps on turning in 7 and 8/10 performances every single week.

Jack Grealish – 5/10 – Injuries have ruined Grealish’s season but even when he has been fit, the former Aston Villa man hasn’t found his best form, restricted to just three goals and one assist in Premier League play. He’ll be expecting much more from himself next season.

Oscar Bobb – 6/10 – The Norwegian has had to remain patient but has looked a real talent whenever given the opportunity by Guardiola. Bobb has managed to score in both Premier League and Champions League play this season and likey done enough to stick around and prove himself further in 2024/25.

Jeremy Doku – 7/10 – Caught everybody’s eye with some explosive performances at the start of the season, with his pace and trickery proving a nightmare for defenders. Things have slowed down somewhat over the past few months, with just one goal and three assists since early November. However, we’ve seen enough from Doku to suggest he’ll play a key role next season.

Julian Alvarez – 7.5/10 – Alvarez has had a strange campaign, spending more time filling injury-shaped gaps in City’s squad — mostly for De Bruyne — than nailing down his own spot. But the Argentine World Cup winner has performed the task brilliantly with 11 goals and nine assists in the Premier League and a very impressive 19 goals across all competitions.

Erling Haaland – 8/10 – Compared to last season, Erling Haaland has been absolutely terrible. But that’s only because last season was a superhuman effort, the likes of which we may not see again in quite some time. The Norwegian phenom walks away from 2023/24 with another Golden Boot, scoring 27 Premier League goals and 38 across all competitions. The only thing left is to silence the critics who believe he should contribute more to City’s overall play.
