Everton are planning to move for Dnipro-1 striker Artem Dovbyk after missing out on Arnaut Danjuma, according to the Sun.

The Toffees thought they had wrapped up a deal for the Villarreal forward after a medical was done over the weekend.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have signed Danjuma on loan until the end of the season. Everton are now moving on, and Dovbyk has emerged as a target.

The 25-year-old Ukraine international has netted 16 goals in 23 games across all competitions this season.

He has also bagged three goals and an assist in six Nations League B games for his country.

The 6ft 2ins hitman ended last term with 14 goals in 18 games and could be open to leaving the Ukrainian Premier League.

Dovbyk bagged 10 goals in 27 games in 2020-21 and could be a solid addition to the Everton attack.

The Merseyside club have struggled in the final third this term, scoring just 15 goals in 20 games.

They need to bolster their striking options, and Dovbyk could be perfect.

Everton cannot afford to end the January transfer window without signing an attacker.

However, any move would depend on who becomes their next manager.

They parted ways with Frank Lampard earlier this week, and that saw Danjuma change his mind.

The Goodison Park club have been linked with several names, and they need to move quickly.

There are just five days left in the winter transfer window, and things have to happen fast.

Dovbyk could be open to joining Everton, but the next manager could be key to any move.
