With Everton frustrated in a goalless draw at Fulham on Tuesday evening, Luton’s 4-0 victory over Brighton saw the Toffees drop into the relegation zone and Sean Dyche has work to do if he is to steer his side to safety.
Tottenham boosted their top-four aspirations with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Brentford on Wednesday and Spurs will be seeking back-to-back Premier League wins when they head to Goodison Park on Saturday.
After a torrid start to life at Tottenham, Richarlison has reminded everyone just what he’s capable of in recent weeks. The Brazil international is the Premier League’s top scorer since breaking into the Spurs starting XI on December 10, hitting seven goals in seven games during that time. Meanwhile, in league play, no Brazilian has scored more than his eight goals across Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues this season.
This weekend, Richarlison returns to the familiar surroundings of Goodison Park, where he remains an immensely popular figure not just for his goals helping keep Everton in the Premier League, but also his commitment to the cause and unique bond with the club’s supporters.
However, Evertonians will be only too aware of how little encouragement Richarlison needs to score against them. The 26-year-old opened the scoring as Spurs beat the Toffees 2-1 just before Christmas, which was his second goal in four appearances against them.
No player to have previously played for Everton in the Premier League has scored home and away against the Toffees in the same campaign before. Richarlison would no doubt love to tick that one off his list but to do so, he’ll have to beat goalkeeper and former teammate Jordan Pickford, who is fresh from keeping his league-high eighth clean sheet of the season against Fulham last time out.

Everton will be without Abdoulaye Doucoure, Seamus Coleman, Andre Gomes and Dele Alli through injury while Amadou Onana is carrying a knock and must be assessed.
However, Senegal international Idrissa Gueye has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations and could be involved.
Spurs will be without Manuel Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, Alejo Veliz and Giovani Lo Celso through injury.
South Korean star Heung-min Son is away at the Asia Cup while Yves Bissouma is still on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Mali, but Pape Sarr is expected to return from his international commitments.
