Everton have interviewed former Italian centre-half Fabio Cannavaro to take over as their permanent manager.
The World Cup winner, who played for illustrious clubs such as Juventus and Real Madrid during a trophy laden career, is a surprise candidate for the post.
Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright are both involved in finding the next boss.
According to The Telegraph, Cannavaro is said to have impressed in their interview, while Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are also in the mix.
Everton are currently being managed by Duncan Ferguson on a caretaker basis.
