Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips could head for a spell with Everton.

According to Sky Sports, Everton are exploring a potential loan deal for Phillips this summer.

Earlier this month, the Merseyside-based club’s director of football Kevin Thelwell indicated that new players will be brought through the “utilisation of the loan market.” Taking into account Everton’s transfer strategy this window, landing Phillips would be a considerable achievement for their scouts.

The Toffees’ boss Sean Dyche previously tried to sign the 28-year-old back in 2019 when he was Burnley’s coach but failed.

Phillips joined Man City on a £45m transfer from Leeds United and since then, he has struggled to find his feet. Due to his subpar performances, he fell out of favour with England boss Gareth Southgate, who has left him out of his 33-man provisional Euros squad list.

Everton are also working to extend the loan deal of Leeds winger Jack Harrison.
