Everton have three medicals lined up on deadline day, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

It seems the Toffees could be one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs today ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline.

Everton transfer news – Sean Dyche

Everton recently announced Sean Dyche as their new manager, replacing Frank Lampard, in a bid to keep the Toffees in the top flight.

And the Merseyside club also agreed a deal to sell Anthony Gordon to Newcastle, lining their pockets to the tune of £40m.

It seems Everton are very much prepared to put that money to good use, following claims of a £40m offer for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

And Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge informed GiveMeSport that the Goodison outfit are ready to back Dyche in the transfer market.

That suggests we will see plenty of action on the blue half of Merseyside on deadline day, and it’s now being claimed that Everton already have a number of medicals lined up – including one for reported target Kamaldeen Sulemana, who is valued at €30m (£26.4m).

What has Jacque Talbot said about Everton on deadline day?

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Talbot stated that Everton have three medicals booked in for deadline day, suggesting Dyche could have a trio of additions to his squad come the close of business at 11pm.

He told GMS: “I’ve heard they’ve got three medicals lined up today. I believe it will be Sulemana from Rennes. I’m not sure on the other names, but that’s what I heard. There are three medicals booked in at Everton today as Sean Dyche tries to pull them out of the relegation zone.”

Groundhog day at Everton?

Everton fans may feel that the end to January 2023 has been remarkably similar to last year’s at Goodison Park.

After deciding to pull the plug on Rafa Benitez’s time at the club, Lampard was appointed Everton boss on the 31st of January.

Simultaneously, deals were agreed for Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek as the Toffees looked to save their season and stave off relegation into the second tier.

Fast forward 12 months and Everton have changed managers with the transfer deadline on the horizon, and are now looking to make some last-minute additions as they once again find themselves trying to keep afloat in the Premier League.

At this point, of course it makes sense for Everton to make a change in the dugout and bring in players that can boost their chances of survival.

At the same time though, the Merseyside club’s board need to understand why they’re caught up in this short-term cycle and develop a clear roadmap of how to get out of it.
