Everton favourites to land Lille midfielder Thiago Mendes

Clubs all over the world have been watching Lille this season as they have clinched Champions League football for next season.

While most of the big teams are fighting over who will land Lille striker Nicolas Pépé, who has been rated at around €80m, central midfielder Thiago Mendes has been the man that has been making the club tick.

According to reports out of England, Everton are now favourites to land the 27-year-old, but they will have to pay a hefty price for the Brazilian number six.

With Idrissa Gueye tipped to leave the club this year, the Toffees could have to shell out €30m for who could be his direct replacement.

Mendes arrived at Lille from São Paulo in 2017 for €9m and has made 68 appearances for the club.
