Everton Could Move In For This Ligue 1 Forward: What Will He Add To Dyche’s Team? | OneFootball

In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, journalist Paul Brown mentioned that Everton could move in for Olympique Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye. Brown said,

“Everton are going to have to be creative in the transfer market, if they want to bring somebody in, it’s probably going to have to be a loan, just because they need to protect their finances a little bit with the current investigation that’s going on into them.

“I can see it from one point of view because Ndiaye can play multiple positions. He’s played on both wings, he can play more centrally, and he’d be a useful and versatile member of the squad, but it feels to me like he would be a kind of Danjuma signing, who in theory could come in and offer some competition in various parts of the pitch.

“But because of the AFCON issue, I think it would be strange if they were to target him too hard.”

Ndiaye’s Season Of Mixed Emotions In French Football

Ndiaye is having a tough campaign at the French club as he has struggled to be consistent with his productivity in front of the opponent’s goal. The Senegalese sensation has scored one goal and grabbed three assists in 23 matches for Marseille this season across various competitions.

The 23-year-old has caught the eye with his contributions in the final third based on his average of 1.1 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in Ligue 1 football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after completing 81.8% of his attempted passes in the French top-flight (stats via whoscored).

What Will Ndiaye Add To Everton Boss Sean Dyche’s Side?

Ndiaye can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for others around him in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well. The Senegal international mainly functions as a centre-forward but can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger on either flank if needed.

We can expect Ndiaye to add more quality and depth to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s attack. He might even help the Toffees challenge for a top-half finish in the Premier League this season.

All in all, Dyche should focus on moving in for Ndiaye when the transfer window commences at the start of January.
