In a recent report, Mondo Udinese claimed that Everton are still in the running for Udinese striker Beto. It has been mentioned that the Toffees are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Portuguese centre-forward this summer.

Beto’s Good Record In Italian Football This Season

Beto is experiencing a decent season at the Italian club as he has managed to produce some impressive displays for them up top. The Portuguese sensation has banged in ten goals and grabbed two assists in 31 matches for Udinese during this campaign in multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old has led the line well for his current club based on his average of 1.9 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he has to find a way to improve his link-up play in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 64.9% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club is set to expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, Everton would find it difficult to snap Beto up later this year.

Should Everton Move In For Beto This Summer?

Beto can create space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. The Portuguese talent can be a streaky goal-scorer in the final third and can set up some promising chances for his teammates when he is playing well on the pitch.

However, Beto has to figure out a way to improve his passing accuracy up top. Standing at 1.94m, he can be a dominant force in the air inside the opponent’s penalty box.

Therefore, Beto could be a good signing for the Toffees as he has what it takes to compete with Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club.

Everton boss Sean Dyche would be wise to move in for Beto as long as he can get him for a fair price during the summer transfer period. At 25, the Portuguese striker’s best years are ahead of him, the Toffees could get the best out of him in the coming seasons. However, there are some concerns over whether he would be able to adapt to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football.
