In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Everton are keeping tabs on Roma keeper Mile Svilar. It has been claimed that the Toffees are showing interest in the Serbian custodian ahead of the summer transfer window.

Svilar’s Impressive Form In European Football This Season

The 24-year-old is having an impressive campaign at the Italian club as he has managed to catch the eye in goal for them recently. Svilar has featured in 11 matches for Roma this season, conceding ten goals and earning four clean sheets in various competitions.

The Serbian talent has managed to impress in Europe based on his average of 0.4 clearances and 3.0 long balls per 90 minutes in the UEFA Europa League. He has even distributed possession relatively well after making 76% of his attempted passes in European football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Roma will expire in the summer of 2027 which would make it difficult for the Toffees to sign him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

What Will Svilar Bring To Everton?

Svilar can be a safe pair of hands in goal when he is playing with confidence on the field. He has got decent reflexes under his belt that allow him to make a few important saves at the back. The Serbian keeper is a solid handler of the ball as well and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.89m, Svilar can be a towering presence inside his penalty box. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to settle into life in England if the Toffees manage to get him on board later this year.

We can expect Svilar to bring more quality to Everton‘s goalkeeping department. He has what it takes to compete with Jordan Pickford for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park in the coming seasons.

At 24, the best is yet to come from Svilar, so the Merseyside club should focus on getting a deal done for him when the transfer window commences in the summer. However, Sean Dyche would have to be patient with his progress before he can unlock the best out of the talented keeper at Merseyside in the future.
