England star Ella Toone jokingly claimed she taught Harry Kane her brilliant chipped goal in the Euro 2022 Final.

The 22-year-old scored the opener as England narrowly defeated Germany 2-1 at Wembley.

She raced into a one on one with the German goalkeeper in the 62nd minute, lifting the ball over Merle Frohms and into the back of the net.

The brilliant goal was cancelled out by Lina Magull’s equaliser, with Chloe Kelly scoring the winner for England in extra-time.

The midfielder was told that she had impressed England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane, who posted on Twitter: “Absolutely unreal scenes at Wembley!! Massive congrats to the amazing @Lionesses!! @ellatoone99 take a bow for that finish too 👌”.

“Even Harry Kane was in awe of you last night,” Scott said, with Toone responding: “Yeah, I taught him that”.

The women’s team managed to go one step further than the men at Euro 2022, winning England’s first major title since the World Cup in 1966.

The incredible crowd at Wembley made the match the highest-attended Euros final ever, men and women’s, and there was a record peak audience of 17.4 million people watching at home.

Much of the credit for England’s victory must go to Wiegman, who has now won back-to-back European Championships after guiding the Netherlands to victory back in 2017.
