Eupen considering Dominik Thalhammer as new head coach

HLN is reporting that Eupen are considering former Cercle Brugge and LASK Linz manager Dominik Thalhammer as their new head coach. Thalhammer took over Cercle Brugge midway through last season, and despite a promising start was unable to maintain consistency and was relieved of his duties after a couple of games.

This comes just after reports had circulated that Eupen were going to wait till after the World Cup to appoint a new manager. Eupen sacked Bernd Storck after a 2-1 defeat away to Mechelen, despite only appointing the former Genk manager in the summer.

Eupen’s first game without Storck was a 4-2 defeat to Anderlecht in Brussels. The Pandas have only won one of their last five matches, meaning they have won four and lost 11 matches this season. The east Belgian side are only outside of the three relegation spots on matches won, as Kortrijk only have three wins.
