Al Najmah gain historic RSL promotion | OneFootball

Al Najmah became the second team to secure promotion to the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League following their 2-0 victory against Ohod on Monday in the penultimate matchweek of the Yelo First Division League.

The side from Unaizah in the Qassim region will be the 34th club to appear in the Saudi top flight since the inception of the Pro League in 2008-09. They join NEOM, who had already booked their place in next season's RSL as winners of the second tier at the end of April.

With 62 points, Al Najmah clinched second place with a game to spare, while the four teams below them in the table will contest the play-offs for the third berth in the RSL for 2025-26.

Unaizah, one of the twin cities alongside Buraidah that forms the urban centre of the agricultural region of Qassim, becomes the 22nd city to be represented in the top division of Saudi football.

Earlier this week, Qassim lost one of its representatives in the RSL when Al Raed’s 1-0 defeat to Damac consigned them to relegation for the first time in their history. That leaves Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad and Al Shabab as the only teams to have contested every RSL campaign since 2008-09.
