Bayern Munich are reportedly no longer pursuing Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and are not interested in him becoming their next manager.

In recent days, it emerged that Ten Hag – who is under intense pressure at United – is on Bayern’s radar as a potential successor to Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel is set to depart the Allianz Arena at the end of the campaign and Bayern have not found it easy to identify and secure the right man to assume the hot seat after him.

The Bavarian giants have seen moves for the likes of Xabi Alonso, ex-United interim boss Ralf Rangnick and Julen Lopetegui collapse. It’s due to these setbacks that they turned their eyes to Ten Hag.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Bayern had established contact with the Dutchman’s representatives regarding a potential switch and talks were held between the two parties.

It was stated that Ten Hag’s preference would still be to remain at Old Trafford and carry on with the project he took up two years ago, this time with the stable hand and influence of INEOS above him.

However, if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his confidants were to pull the trigger and sack him, then Ten Hag would be inclined to explore the possibility of becoming the next Bayern gaffer.

BILD journalist Christian Falk has given a huge update on the situation and indicated that this option is no longer on the table for Ten Hag.

Falk explains that Ten Hag is “no longer a candidate” for the Bundesliga giants. He confirms that there were conversations between the Dutchman camp and Bayern chief Max Eberl but they weren’t productive.

These talks have now been stopped and will not continue.

Amidst this development, it seems that Ten Hag’s remaining hope is that United retain faith in him and the top brass led by Ratcliffe choose to give him more time.

However, after the devastating 4-0 demolishing at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night, it’s not looking good for Ten Hag.
