Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed a triple injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils have been in a poor run of form since the international break and they have picked up just one victory from their last seven league outings.

United suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat AT Crystal Palace on Monday and Ten Hag will want a strong response against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has provided some good news on the injury front.

Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez were spotted in training yesterday and the Dutchman has confirmed the former could be available against Arsenal.

Martinez has also asked to play against the Gunners this weekend, but Ten Hag has clarified that the Argentine will not be risked ahead of the FA Cup final.

Ten Hag said: “Rashy, of course, he trained this morning as well, and we have to see how he recovered from this. But I think it looks quite good and I hope he can tomorrow make the next training and then see if he is available for Sunday.”

“Yesterday, Licha [Lisandro Martinez] came to me and wanted to play on Sunday against Arsenal, but he’s not ready yet – he needs a little bit more time to go through the process, but he is so desperate.”

Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay have also reported for full training. The duo are in contention to take on the Gunners on Sunday afternoon.

Ten Hag added: “Bruno [Fernandes] was on the pitch and Scott McTominay was on the pitch, so there are some players returning.”

However, Mason Mount has suffered another unfortunate setback. The Englishman has picked up a fresh injury and won’t make the matchday squad against Arsenal.

Mount has had a tough debut campaign with the Red Devils and Ten Hag has acknowledged that the midfielder has been ‘very unlucky’ with injuries.

Of the remaining injured players, Luke Shaw now appears doubtful for the FA Cup final, having had a setback in his recovery from a muscle injury.

“Luke Shaw had a setback in his process as well, but there is still hope. He will fight to be available for the [FA Cup] final,” Ten Hag said.

United are currently eighth in the table with 54 points. They are behind Chelsea on goal difference and two points adrift of sixth-placed Newcastle United.

The Red Devils need to win their remaining games to boost their chances of European football.

Sunday’s encounter is a must-win for them after their mixed fortunes over the past month.

Arsenal have a poor record at Old Trafford with one league win in 16 outings. United will be aiming to bounce back with a victory to end the Gunners’ title push.
