Belgium beat England 3-2 in UEFA Women’s Nations League Group A1, Scotland lost out 1-0 at home to the Netherlands.

England trailed early on through a Laura De Neve free-kick and then lost stalwart Alex Greenwood to a head injury after a 13-minute stoppage

Lucy Bronze’s guided header from a deep Chloe Kelly cross bounced in off the crossbar and Lauren Hemp set up Fran Kirby to give the Lionesses the lead.

Tessa Wullaert raced clear to level before the break and converted an 85th-minute spot-kick, when Georgia Stanway was adjudged to have handled Yana Daniels’ drive.

Belgium go one point above the Lionesses, leaving Wiegman’s side three points behind the Netherlands ahead of their visit to Wembley on 1 December.

Scotland were beaten by an Esmee Brugts goal on the hour at Hampden Park, having earlier been denied a possible penalty for handball by Caitlin Dijkstra.

Sandy MacIver tipped a Sherida Spitse free-kick onto the crossbar but was beaten by Brugts’s effort which went in off the far post.

Lineth Beerensteyn nearly doubled the advantage but struck the post, Sophie Howard had a last-gasp opportunity to equalise but Daphne van Domselaar made the save.
