Gareth Southgate could step down as England head coach after Euro 2024 and be replaced by Pep Guardiola.

The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel reports that the Football Association are braced for the former defender’s potential departure after next summer’s tournament.

Should Southgate’s eight-year stay in charge of the national side end, the Three Lions are said to be “exploring” the surprise appointment of Guardiola.

The Manchester City manager’s current deal is set to expire in summer 2025 and could be lined up to take charge of the Euro 2020 finalists.
