England remain unbeaten Euro 2024 despite their struggles and they now know that Slovakia will be their Round of 16 opponents. What are their fixtures and potential route to the final?

Group C looks to be one that’s been kind to England, with Denmark, Serbia and Slovenia filling out the group. Despite not being at their best, the Three Lions were able to progress as group winners with five points as every single game in the group, aside from the 1-0 win that Gareth Southgate’s men managed against Serbia in their first match.

Group C – Matchweek One

England’s first ever match against Serbia and first game at Euro 2024 resulted in a way, albeit in a far from vintage performance. A Jude Bellingham header in the first half was enough to separate the two sides and Orlovi did draw one big save from Jordan Pickford in the latter stages.

Group C – Matchweek Two

Much like in the Euro 2020 final, England and Denmark played out a 1-1 draw over 90 minutes when they met on Matchday Two of Group C at Euro 2024. Harry Kane had given England the lead in the first half only for a scorching strike from Rasmus Hojlund to draw Rod-Hvide level.

Group C – Matchweek Three

There’s really not much to be said about England’s 0-0 draw with Slovenia in their third and final group stage game. Although they controlled possession in the second half slightly better than in their previous two games, the Three Lions toiled with little creativity and were unable to break down a Slovenian defence hell-bent on securing a third straight draw and their spot in the group stages.

Round of 16

England may not have impressed during the group stages but they did finish top and that gives them a favourable draw against a Slovakia side that finished third in Group E. The Falcons should not be underestimated though – they’ve already sprung one shock result at this tournament, beating Belgium in their opening game thanks to Ivan Schranz’s early goal.
