Brazilian wonderkid Endrick further cemented his status as one of world football’s most exciting young talents by breaking a 106-year record on Tuesday night.
The teenager, full name Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa, celebrated his 16th birthday in July.
He went viral earlier this year after scoring several outrageous goals aged just 15. Compared to his legendary compatriot Ronaldo, Endrick had reportedly netted a remarkable 165 goals in 169 games for Palmeiras at youth level aged of Copinha 2022 – a tournament for Under-20 teams in São Paulo.
Several months later, in May, Endrick reached an agreement with Palmeiras to sign his first professional contract, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The youngster put pen to paper on a three-year deal which contained one very important detail: a €60 million release clause.
There’s now an even bigger chance that one of Europe’s top clubs will trigger that release clause in the near future after he became the youngest player in the history of Palmeiras to score a goal with the first team, aged 16 years, three months and four days.
Born in the same month as the 2006 World Cup final, Endrick broke a record that lasted 106 years by overtaking Heitor, who scored with the same club at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 14 days way back in December 1916, per Marca.
“What God does in my life is inexplicable,” Endrick was quoted as saying after scoring his first professional goal. “I have to work harder to improve, I want people to believe in me, have faith and believe in me.”
Palmeiras were trailing 1-0 to Athletico Paranaense when Endrick was sent on at half-time by manager Abel Ferreira.
The gifted forward then scored two goals in 11 minutes to turn the game on its head for the league leaders, who went on to secure all three points.

Over on Instagram, where Endrick already boasts 1.3 million followers, he posted a photo of the celebration, tagging Haaland.
There was a lovely moment after the final whistle where Endrick happily took selfies with fans inside the Arena da Baixada, home of Athletico Paranaense.
Everyone wants a piece of the wonderkid right now, including most of the world’s top clubs.
Per Football Espana, Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been following Endrick for some time.
However, the same report claims Paris Saint-Germain are currently “the clear favourites” for his signature.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the teenager this year.
It surely now a matter of time before Endrick, who is also meant to be a wonderkid on Football Manager 2023, secures a lucrative move to Europe.
