With transfer rumours taking massive twists in the past days, French journalist Romain Molina has dropped another update about Barcelona manager Xavi’s potential link with PSG.

According to Molina, the Emir of Qatar was not pleased when Xavi left Al Sadd. He was Qatar’s plan B to manage PSG in case Zidane did not come.

However, the Parisien club is reportedly aware that it would be impossible to bring the Xavi right now, but they want the Catalan to manage PSG in the future.

Xavi has managed Al Sadd for 91 games, winning 62 of them. At Barcelona, he holds a similar record, managing 36 games while winning 20, drawing 9, and losing 7.

While the Catalan club is not at its best, it does not look like Xavi will leave Barcelona soon, especially considering that he is ‘rebuilding’ the team with youngsters, not to mention that he has a great bond with the dressing room too.

President Joan Laporta fully supports the 42-year-old, and Barcelona has only gone upward since his takeover.

However, one should not forget that PSG is known for ruining Barcelona’s plans, especially after the Neymar Jr. saga in 2017 in which the Parisiens paid the Brazilian’s release clause without negotiating with the Catalan club at all.

Besides that, considering that PSG managed to keep Kylian Mbappe at the Parisien club -despite everyone believing that the superstar’s transfer to Real Madrid was done-, anything can be expected from the French giants.
