Oh, Emi Martínez, what have you done?
Manchester United stormed into the lead after just five minutes of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa at Villa Park courtesy of Bruno Fernandes’ goal.
But the strike was completely and utterly avoidable from the home side’s point of view.
The Portuguese midfielder’s effort was straight down the throat of the Villa goalkeeper but he somehow conspired it let the ball slip through his hands before dropping it over the line.
Martínez claimed that a Manchester United player was offside and in his line of sighting but the goal stood and Steven Gerrard’s men have work to do to get back into the game.
A howler from the goalkeeper.
