Lazio coach Marco Baroni will be working with a depleted squad during the international break, as eleven of his players received call-ups from their national teams.
The Biancocelesti have been enjoying a golden run of results, winning 10 out of their 11 outings across all competitions. Several of the club’s stars have been hitting their stride, so they couldn’t be denied spots in the national teams. Hence, Nicolo Rovella and Nuno Tavares could be set to make their senior international debuts for Italy and Portugal respectively.
Both nations have some interesting battles awaiting them in the UEFA Nations League, especially the Azzurri who will lock horns with Belgium and France. Speaking of Les Bleus, they will also have a Lazio representative among their ranks in the shape of Matteo Guendouzi. Denmark’s Gustav Isaksen, Montenegro’s Adam Marusic Albania’s Elseid Hysaj and Greece’s Christos Mandas will also take part in the same competition.
On the other hand, Taty Castellanos will represent Argentina in their next two World Cup qualifiers, while Senegal’s Boulaye Dia and Nigeria’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will compete in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations. Finally, Loum Tchaouna will represent France U21 in two friendly tests.
