Real Madrid will take on Barcelona in the first El Clásico of the 2022-23 season on October 16. The game will get underway at the Santiago Bernabéu at 4.15 pm local time, according to AS.

Barcelona shocked their rivals with a 4-0 win at the Bernabéu in the last match between the sides, breaking their losing streak in the Clásicos as they had suffered five defeats on the bounce.

The sides will play in their respective Champions League groups before the October date. On Tuesday 11 October, Madrid will come up against Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland. Barcelona will welcome Inter Milan to Camp Nou on Wednesday 12 October in the tricky Group C. The Catalans have picked up three points from a possible six thus far.

Madrid are currently top La Liga on 18 points, having won all six of their opening games, while Xavi’s Barcelona are in second place on 16 points.
