Bayern Munich forward Joshua Zirkzee is on Eintracht Frankfurt’s list of candidates to replace Bas Dost, according to Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung.
The Bundesliga side confirmed the departure of Dost to Club Brugge on Christmas Eve: “As you know, the pandemic has led to financial challenges for us. Brugge made a great effort to sign Bas, and for us it’s a lucrative overall package,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic.
According to Sky Germany, FC Köln are expected to reignite their interest in Zirkzee, who they were interested in signing during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Algemenen Dagblad in November, the Dutchman said he would be open to leaving Bayern Munich on loan: “It is important that I play full games. I try to stay fit and if I can head out on loan during the winter break, that might be an option.”
The 19-year-old has played just 91 minutes of Bundesliga football this season.
