According to Florian Plettenberg, Eintracht Frankfurt are exploring a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
It is understood that Die Adler are looking to add reinforcement to the middle of the park after Oscar Højlund suffered a metatarsal fracture, leaving the 19-year-old out of action for the foreseeable future.
Therefore, with Dino Toppmöller’s side currently low on midfield options, they have identified Dahoud as an ideal target.
As stated in the report, talks between Frankfurt and Dahoud are advanced, with the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder keen on a return to the Bundesliga.
However, the deal relies upon Die Adler finding an agreement with the Premier League outfit.
Nevertheless, this is not expected to be an issue with Dahoud currently not in Fabian Hürzeler’s plans on the Sussex Coast.
The 28-year-old is now waiting to receive the green light from Brighton in order to travel to Frankfurt in order to undergo a medical before making the deal official.
