Kicker confirms midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe has been separated from the rest of the Eintracht Frankfurt squad in training camp. The Frenchman – despite positive overtures from the Bundesliga club – has not featured at all for the Eintracht professionals since a loan deal to Monaco collapsed last January.

Frankfurt hope to find a taker for the 24-year-old, who remains under contract with the SGE through 2027 and maintains an estimated market value of €6m. Whether or not Ebimbe can be moved this summer remains to be seen. There could still be some interest from his native country.

At present, there remains plenty of dead weight on Eintracht’s rather large 33-man pre-season squad. The Hessen-based club is also looking to sell loan returnees Aurelio Buta and Hrvoje Smolcic. Niels Nkounkou and Mahmoud Dahoud are also allowed to leave Hessen due to a lack of sporting prospects.

Following striker Jonathan Burkardt’s purchase, Frankfurt are operating on an estimated -€22.9m summer transfer balance. In order to finance the expensive purchase of Freiburg attacker Ritsu Doan, the RheinMainAdler are hoping to complete a few sales.

The players listed above nevertheless amount to little in the quest to swing the summer transfer balance back into the black. Obviously, a potential blockbuster deal to cash in on French striker Hugo Ekitiké would shift the calculus considerably.
